Through its donation, the beauty brand will help support 6.5 million girls
On International Day of the Girl last week, Clé de Peau Beauté pledged US$8.7 million (S$11.9 million)—the "world's largest contribution", according to the announcement—to Unicef's Gender Equality Program. The donation will aide the United Nations' organisation's work in Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Niger and other countries and will go towards girls' education—particularly in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. The beauty brand, which is a division of Shiseido, has also pledged a percentage of sales from Clé de Peau's The Serum to Unicef's girls' empowerment programs.
