The historic interiors of The Capitol have now been beautifully restored to house a new property by luxury hotel group Kempinski. The hotel features 157 lofty, light-filled rooms and suites with high ceilings and elegant archways that reference the building’s original Victorian and Art Deco architectural features.
2/5 Six Senses Maxwell
Located close to sister property Six Senses Duxton, this boutique hotel is housed in a block of shophouses with refurbished interiors by French interior designer Jacques Garcia. Blending its European influence with an Asian touch, the 138 rooms and suites of Six Senses Maxwell have been lavishly decorated, with some featuring historical artefacts.

The flagship of the Park Hotel group recently unveiled its new look—the renovation of Grand Park City Hall was spearheaded by RSP Architects Planners & Engineers, with its interiors refurbished by HBA. The hotel incorporates Neoclassical details, Peranakan-style tiles and Singapore-inspired artworks into myriad spaces; interconnected family rooms feature bean bags and other child-friendly facilities to keep the youngest guests entertained.

Comprising just 40 rooms within a conserved colonial building, this hotel in Sentosa will feature modern interiors that also pay tribute to its historic architecture. Slated to open in August 2019, The Barracks Hotel is one of three hotels opened by Far East Hospitality; sister properties The Outpost hotel and Village Hotel at Sentosa are expected to welcome its first guests in February.

Expect the grand dame of Singapore hotels to unveil its new look in mid 2019. The refurbishment is spearheaded by Aedas Singapore in collaboration with architectural conservation and specialist consultancy Studio Lapis. The hotel’s interior design is the work of Champalimaud Design, a New York-based practice helmed by celebrated interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud.
