Nicolas Ghesquière’s first Pre-Fall collection for Louis Vuitton was a mix and match affair.

A designer's first season at a new fashion house is bound to be a nervous one. Awaiting the critics responces, hearing from the loyal fans; it's sure to be a nail-biting affair. Well, Nicolas Ghesquière need not have worried with his first Pre-Fall collection for Louis Vuitton proving to be an all-round hit.

With the campaign images being left in the superbly capable hands of famed photographer Juergen Teller, the collection comprised of 15, uniquely different, chic, de-constructed themed looks. Breaking with the tradition of set collection looks, Ghesquière played with the idea of mix and match, using fabrics, materials, lengths and proportions for a collection designed to lend itself to a wide range of possibilities. Silks and tweeds mixed superbly, leathers mingled with velvets while mini dresses sat happily with longer cardigans and aligator short boots for a collection whose looks look set to run and run.
