We can’t imagine anyone doing quirky cool better than Kate Spade New York, and to celebrate the opening of not one, but two new boutiques in Singapore, the American fashion house threw a huge bash in its signature whimsical style.
Launched just over two decades ago, Kate Spade New York has become synonymous with uniquely quirky, fun-filled wears and for Summer 2015, the American fashion mavens have truly outdone themselves not only with their latest bright and breezy garden-themed collection but by announcing the opening of two new boutiques in Singapore. Of course such news couldn’t go un-celebrated with the brand hosting one of the most unique parties we have seen in quite some time.
As over 200 guests, including tastemakers such as Yoyo Cao, creative consultant Tracy Phillips, MTV Asia VJ Hanli Hoefer, celebrity Jade Seah, and Yvette King, mingled over champagne and canapés, celebrity DJ Amanda Ling got the party going with her eclectic mix of up-beat tunes. Models were on hand to bring the garden theme to life too, toting flower pot bags, watering can clutches, wicker frog bags and even lounging on inflatable swans in the famous canal of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
Party aside and onto the reason to celebrate; the new boutiques and firstly, the Marina Bay Sands boutique. At over 200 square feet, it’s the largest Kate Spade in Singapore and filled to the brim with the very best of the brands ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, jewellery, watches, footwear and even stationary.
The second new Kate Spade boutique will certainly give travellers a reason to be merry as its housed at Changi Airport, Terminal Three. Carrying the full range of goodies but with a strong focus on handbags and accessories, it’s the perfect pit stop for last minute holiday buys.
Think the celebration’s over? Not quite. A special edition handbag has been brought in from the USA to celebrate the new boutique openings: the shaw street kegan. Available only at Marina Bay Sands, the limited-edition stunner, decked in python-embossed leather, boasts not only multiple interior side pockets but the always useful cross-body strap, making it the perfect travel companion for any true Kate Spade fan.
