First up: which Gucci character would you like to play?

1. The ‘40s anti-heroine

The opening look of the show, this coat—whose G motif is a modern take on the brand’s rhombi pattern from the '30s—was worn together with red thigh-highs, spiked suspenders and fetish mask, as well as a black tie and… a brush.

Take the accoutrements away, and this is a timeless, keep-forever ensemble that you’ll don this winter and want to come back to every year after. The coat is made to fit beautifully with a nipped waist, there's a removable cape and it's reminiscent of ‘40s tailoring. It’s unapologetically elegant and belongs in your wardrobe.

2. Eccentric librarian

You’ll be the coolest librarian in town in this all-white houndstooth tweed dress with vinyl sleeves and vintage-looking resin buttons. Pair it with a pop of colour: these playful zip-up yellow boots, which are made of water-resistant fabric, will ensure you look the part, even on rainy days.

Complete your bookish look with sunglasses, a quintessential granny Gucci bag and your latest favourite read—how about Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland? Creative director Alessandro Michele is known to be an avid collector and among his prized collection is a set of 35 (and counting) different editions of this famous children’s book.

3. Gloom-rock poet

How does rock 'n' roll look like through Gucci's lens? Alessandro Michele would probably be inspired by his good friend Nick Cave, and the idea of a musician-writer who is both notorious and an anti-social misfit (of course), spending their days melancholic and sitting around shredded violins and guitars.

Now, what would she wear? Something absolutely dizzying like this beaded fringe mini dress complete with black vinyl cuffs. Look closer at the neckline and find two metal snake heads in a face-off. Add on an exaggerated platform heel, rainbow GG motifs on a pair of sunglasses, inspired by vintage reading glasses—and you’re stage-ready.
