Hublot Collaborates With Yohji Yamamoto To Release An All-Black Big Bang Watch
It comes as no surprise to anyone familiar with the work of Yohji Yamamoto that he would choose Hublot's Big Bang All Black when it comes to a watch to put his stamp on. Known for his voluminous avant-garde designs dominated by the colour black, the All Black collection is based on the ethos, "invisible visibility", where time-reading is rendered almost inconspicuous due to the enveloping dark hue.
The Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto, a limited edition of 50 pieces, features tone-on-tone black complete with a micro-blasted black ceramic case and a smoked sapphire crystal in a darker shade. Incidentally, his signature appears at 6 o'clock on the crystal.

The GMT function was chosen because Yamamoto is based in both Paris and Tokyo. The second time zone can be adjusted easily with the push of a button, thanks to a proprietary module in the HUB1251 movement. "Moreover, the hours are 'invisible'. As a person who isn’t always forthcoming, I find that highly amusing," he says.
The new watch was created to commemorate the opening of the new Hublot flagship boutique in Chuo-dori Street, Ginza, Tokyo.
