When it comes to fashion, Dominic Liew proves that age is but a number with his wardrobe of classics with an edge pieces.

“I wear what I like and what speaks to me so that I feel most comfortable,” says medical student Dominic Liew of his fashion philosophy. He credits his mother for piquing his interest in fashion, as they would spend endless hours bonding over shopping. This influenced his style, which fuses smart classics with a touch of fun.

The 26-year-old places mind over matter when it comes to his studies, but recognises the need to look the part of a doctor. “Looking put-together is basic courtesy when seeing patients,” he explains, “I mean, who wants to consult a sloppy doctor?” When it comes to putting together an outfit, he gravitates towards monochromatic hues including blue, grey, black and white. He then builds his outfit by matching the colour of his belt and shoes. The cherry to top it all off is the bling—Dominic has a penchant for diamonds and loves stacking bracelets with his favourite accessories, his watches.

One of his life hacks to staying on top of a busy schedule is never leaving the house without a watch. His 13-hour weekdays mean weekends are sacred and always dedicated to his parents and girlfriend. His ever-growing collection consists mainly of timepieces by independent watchmakers such as MB&F, Parmigiani Fleurier and De Bethune. He usually opts for timeless designs, always considering long-term wearability when it comes to both watches and jewellery.

Dominic occasionally flips through magazines and scrolls through his Instagram feed to stay updated on the latest trends, but he strongly believes that you shouldn’t “wear something just because it’s trendy”.
