After weeks of rigorous testing, the Tatler beauty team presents the products that have worked wonders for us.

Chanel Le Blanc Intensive Whitening Spot Treatment

“I’ve been using the Day Intensive Spot Treatment (Protection) and Night Intensive Spot Treatment (Repair) religiously for about two weeks now. Both products are armed with the TXC* molecule developed by Chanel, which corrects and prevents dark spots.

The difference between the two is the day treatment contains geranium to stop the enzyme that contributes to melanin production while the night treatment uses alpinia extract—it gets the skin’s natural exfoliation process going to erase those dark spots.

I love them because the pen applicator allows me to dispense the exact amount I want with a simple push, and I can use the applicator directly on my skin without getting my fingers involved. Plus, it works. I haven’t seen a significant change yet, but one of the darkest spots on my cheek already looks lighter.” Jolene Khor, fashion and beauty writer.

Available from March.

Arcona Tabula Rasa Pads Repair

“I have very oily skin so when it comes to facials, I’m a huge fan of chemical peels; they just leave my skin so much smoother and brighter. In between treatments, I count on these pads to decongest pores, minimise the appearance of blackheads and smoothen rough surfaces.

How does the pad do it? Infused with blemish fighting ingredients, each round sheet contains lactic acid which acts as an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells. Witch hazel is also present to ward off bacteria, which is common for oily skin. My only advice is to avoid using it on sensitive areas—such as around the eyes and lips.

The overpowering chemical smell may also require some getting used to, but overall, it does a great job in achieving salon equivalent results.” Hayden Ng, online junior writer.

Available at Sephora.

Lancôme Cushion Blush Subtil

“Words cannot express how much I love this blush. Okay I lied. I’m a writer, I can express it well enough to (hopefully) convince you that it works. If you’re looking for the blush to complete your #Iwokeuplikethis beauty regime, look no further.

This mini cushion—it’s only slightly bigger than a macaron—feels super moist and refreshing on the face. Even though the look is au natural, you can bet the colour payoff is great as well, so go at it with a light hand. The shade I’ve been using is Ceris Givrée and I’ve never been happier while looking at my cheeks.” Jolene Khor, fashion and beauty writer.

Available from March.

Allies of Skin 1A All-Day Mask

“I hate packing too many bottles when I need to bring my beauty bag along with me, like to the gym. So imagine my glee when I managed to scale down my on-the-go skincare to just sunscreen and this all-in-one, multi-tasking mask.

In case you’re wondering, this isn’t your typical once- or twice-a-week mask. Don’t be fooled by its name, it’s really more of an all-purpose moisturiser that can be used as a makeup base too. What I really love is its texture; the gel gets absorbed by the skin in seconds and it leaves a fresh and matte finish that’s perfect for our hot and humid climate.

I also reach out to this when I’m running late and can’t afford to slap on my usual serums and moisturisers. The mask can also be used to complement your current skincare regimen, for an extra boost when your skin looks particularly tired.” Hayden Ng, online junior writer.

Zoeva Rose Golden Complete Eye Set

“The German brand by Zoe Boikou has finally reached our shores. Zoeva is known for making quality brush, so I was delighted to try this set, especially since I wear eyeshadow on a daily basis. All 12 brushes are made of both natural hair and synthetic taklon bristles, so it can be used with cream- and powder-based products, although I’ve yet to try them with creams.

Here’s what I love about them: The set is really all you need to create even the most elaborate of runway eye makeup looks by yourself. They’re soft and the bristles are strong and don’t shed. Each brush has its purpose, so no brush is ever left out. However, I was a tad disappointed to find that the brush I used the most, the blending brush, felt a little prickly on the skin. None of the other similar brushes do the same even when I use them every other day, so I’m convinced mine is a one off.”Jolene Khor, fashion and beauty writer.
