Mariasole Cecchi & Andrea Cecchi founded the brand in Florence in 2013, it is now available in 145 countries worldwide. Since 2016, one of their pieces has been permanently displayed at Tassen Museum of Bags and Purses in Amsterdam. Unlike other labels, LPJ has not just one or two, but several iconic shapes ranging from pastel bucket bags to woven box bags to fringed velvet drawstring pouches.

Born in 2016, the accessories brand was founded by Korean designer Ji Hye Koo and inspired by shapes of the 1970s. The vintage-looking box bags which come in fabrics from printed croc leather to a transparent PVC, often come with their now-signature chain to give it a touch of modernity. Gu_de was selected as one of Net-a-porter's new talents in their Vanguard project.

New York-based accessories label Khaore is relatively new to the scene, having been founded in 2017 by designers Wei Hung Chen and Raiheth Rawla. The bags are crafted using the forms found inside the Noguchi Museum, jute vegetable fiber from a 100-year-old mill in Kolkata, India.

Raffia bags are still all the rage and Brazilian brand Serpui, founded by Serpui Marie, creates the most glamorous versions of the category, inspired by tropical gardens, flowers and exotic birds from her hometown Sao Paolo.
