The French jewellery brand presents its latest high jewellery collection, Torsade de Chaumet, inspired by the iconic Parisian landmark, the Vendôme Column
With a history of over 230 years, French jewellery-maker Chaumet has had an intrinsically intertwined relationship with its birthplace, Paris. Following its renovation of its hôtel particulier at 12 Vendôme, the storied jewellery brand pays homage to the iconic Vendôme Column with its latest high jewellery collection, named Torsade de Chaumet.
‘Torsade’ means twist in French, and it is to the sweep of the frieze wrapping the Vendôme Column that the collection draws its inspiration. The energetic motion can be found throughout the high jewellery collection—taking pride of place on Chaumet’s symbolic tiara, for instance; as well as on rings, bracelets and necklaces—and is an “ode to movement and to life”, according to the brand.

On another level, the sweeping twists, crystallised in precious metals and jewels, capture the dynamism and energy of nature, another great source that the brand consistently looks to for inspiration. “It poetically suggests the ceaseless movement of life or the dynamic of love,” the press notes read.
The high jewellery collection comprises of five suites, fashioned from brilliant diamonds, or masterfully paired with coloured gems—sapphires, rubies and emeralds—and bring a modern sensibility for the 21st-century jewellery lover.
