This year’s inductees were finally revealed. Plus, past inductees rocked the runway.
It was a Friday evening. At the Pan Pacific Singapore Hotel, an army of Singapore’s stylish set poured into the welcome area of the Pacific ballroom, waiting to find out who were the three new inductees into the Fashion Hall of Fame family.
Singapore Tatler’s annual Fashion Hall of Fame, which is in its 10th year, expresses our respect for the most stylish men and women in Singapore’s high society circuit. And since they always go the extra mile to dress for every occasion, we must applaud them for their passion for fashion. Every year, the editorial team at Tatler towers goes through several intense and frankly, quite stressful meetings to propose suitable candidates. When we finally settled on the list, a secret shoot is arranged. Nobody is to breathe a word about the inductees’ names until the day of the big reveal — this year it happened on 8 April at Pan Pacific Singapore.
Before the show started, guests helped themselves to an array of small bites made by the hotel’s chefs, served at various stations. Others admired the gorgeous Lalique display featuring the French glassmaker’s decorative items. And a queue had formed in front of an Aston Martin Vanquish model on display, while photographers clicked away.
The evening’s real party kicked off inside the ballroom where host, Bobby Tonelli greeted the audience after being driven up to the stage, and stepping out of the sexy Aston Martin V12 Vantage S.
Guests were treated to an exciting fashion show presented by Ion Orchard where models dressed in the latest collections from local and international brands like Carven, Vivienne Westwood, Diane von Furstenberg, Kwanpen, Alice and Olivia, Paule Ka, Suitsupply and multi label boutique, envie de Pois, were sent down the runway.
On the runway...
For the first time, four of our past inductees — Rany Moran, Peggy Jeffs, June Rin and Susanna Kang — were invited to walk the runway. The experience may be a scary one for some, but for these ladies, they aced their catwalks with confidence as the crowd cheered encouragingly.
Then, it was time for the big reveal: Rosalynn Tay, Karen Ong-Tan and Ho Ching Lin went on stage and spoke of their love for fashion and stylish living.
