A mother’s love is a beautiful thing—this is something that Stephanie Lee, now a mother of three herself, understands more than ever. Growing up, the executive director of investment holding company TS Lee & Sons witnessed the sacrifices her mother, Jessie Lee, made in order to raise her two daughters while managing her heavy workload and the household at the same time.

“Mum had always put the family first before anything else,” Stephanie recalls, adding that she and her sister “were always [Mum's] top priority”. Ensuring Stephanie and her sister grow up with the right life values was paramount as Jessie would emphasise the need for them to be honest, have integrity and always do their best in whatever they did.

As with all families, Stephanie admits that she had her fair share of disagreements with her mother, especially while growing up. However, Stephanie now looks back on their shared memories with fondness.

“As we grew up, there were shouting matches loud enough to shake buildings, but we knew deep down that she loved us a lot. She only wanted the best for us. Now that I am a mother, I can truly understand what it means to be one,” she said.
