The Baby Dior boutique—Southeast Asia’s first and only standalone store for Dior childrenswear—carries babywear in delicate lace for newborns; smart separates for young gentlemen; and the chicest range for young ladies, including Nano Lady Dior bags. For spring 2017, Dior even created a jewellery collection featuring Christian Dior’s lucky charms for your little girl. Kids will adore the stuffed animals, especially the toy rabbit coated in the softest, silkiest Orylag fur.
The boutique also carries a single piece of the season’s couture dress, designed by Baby Dior creative director Cordelia de Castellane. With only a limited number of pieces available around the world, the covetable gown will make your daughter truly feel like a princess.
Luxe Tip: Don’t miss the unique two-room fitting area in this boutique, which is an exclusive in the childrenswear industry. One part is the changing room, where your little ones try on outfits; the adjoining room serves as a VIP salon, with a plush sofa and refreshments for you to relax while you wait.
Fendi Kids
If your little one loves being the centre of attention, look no further than the playful prints and vibrant hues at Fendi Kids. The Italian maison’s childrenswear boutique at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, their first standalone in Southeast Asia, is a direct reflection of this fun and fantastical attitude.
Featuring modern furniture pieces in bright colours, a kids’ drawing area, and shiny robot mascots, this is Fendi’s take on a luxury playroom. Stark white walls and sleek Perspex displays let the bold designs take the spotlight. The iconic Fendi Monster motifs show up on everything from sleek jackets to haversacks and slip-on shoes.
Dolce & Gabbana Junior
The unapologetically vivacious spirit of Dolce & Gabbana is alive and well in the childrenswear collections. The 130sqm boutique is outfitted with velvet-tufted seats, adding a sophisticated touch to the warm, inviting space.
Inside, you’ll find seasonal baby items and chic diaper bags for new mums, plus plenty of apparel for girls and boys up to 12 years old, often featuring striking graphics and signature Mediterranean patterns.
For daughters who like to play dress-up in mummy’s closet, they’re in luck as roughly two-thirds of the girls’ collection matches the adult women’s in mini-me style (with key differences in darting). But even the pieces designed especially for kids retain that trademark fashion flair that the Italian label is known for. Tailored suits in gold brocade or velvet for special occasions will bring out the dapper side to your son, while fairy tale floral dresses—with shoes and a purse to match—will send your daughter to fashion diva heaven.
Kenzo Kids
Those who love the cool, offbeat style of Kenzo will be making a beeline for the Kenzo Kids standalone boutique when it opens at The Shoppes. Featuring all the trademarks of the hip main line worn by the coolest cats in town, the kidswear line is equally playful and cheeky.
Themed around travel, the spring/summer 2017 collection’s main motif is a cartoonish cactus, appearing as a large statement graphic on signature sweaters and as an all-over print on a transparent raincoat.
Stella McCartney Kids
Currently available at multilabel store Kids 21, the eponymous British label will debut a solo childrenwear boutique later this year. The eco-conscious stance in its main ready-to-wear line is also strongly prevalent in its kidswear. Besides, kids are never too young to start caring about sustainability, and the brand offers seasonal capsule designs with GOTS and OCS organic certification.
Look out for the swimwear range too, which features built-in sun protection with ultraviolet protection factor 50+ to guard your little one’s precious skin.
