Salvatore Ferragamo revisits an icon for Spring Summer 2015.

The iconic rainbow wedge created by Salvatore Ferragamo in 1938 for Judy Garland makes a re-appearance this Spring Summer 2015 season with a modern update. Gone are the rainbow coloured heels or gold metallic shoe straps. Instead, Creative Director, Massimiliano Giornetti has replaced them with muted colours such as cream, black and camel brown.

For ready-to-wear, the focus is on elegant silhouettes with an emphasis on textures, colours and craftsmanship. At times, the fabrics are handled, cut, frayed, or melted to create a sort of handmade uniqueness that makes the clothing so endearing.

Of course with Ferragamo, there is always that touch of the exotic seen on the reptile leather belting and python skin straps. The highlight pieces in the collection would be the halter neck dresses that elongate the body and accentuate the shoulders.
