Rimowa x Chaos: The Most Stylish Luggage We’ll All Be Using Once Travel Resumes
As vaccination programs around the world steadily increase, the prospect of returning to travel is in the distant horizon after more than a year of closed borders and travel restrictions. With this in its sights, Rimowa, the 123-year-old premium luggage maker, is introducing a new collaboration with British tech accessories brand Chaos, which is set to capture the hearts of travellers everywhere.
Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall, co-founders of Chaos, have put their own witty, irreverent graphic stamp on the luggage company's iconic ridged suitcases. Made from glossy polycarbonate, the Rimowa Essential Cabin has been splashed with Chaos’ signature dripping paint, which will come in two combinations: saffron yellow and white, and cactus green and black.
“The distinctive paint drip design on the suitcase, aided by our signature embroidered Teddy Tags in three new graphic shapes and a choice of cool stickers, means you can spot your case a mile away,” say Stockdale and Lyall.
In addition to the suitcases, there's also an accompanying line of travel accessories, including collectible travel tags with city names—each with a style that references the colours and culture of the respective city—and suitcase charms made of leather and chenille in the form of the brand's cheeky "chill pill", a fried egg and an apple.
“Our collaboration with Rimowa felt like a natural partnership because high design, function, and quality stand at the forefront of both brands,” Stockdale and Lyall say. “The collection allows you to personalise and your travel set and make a statement, but also to travel with ease.”
