Ricardo Tisci’s first bag for Burberry is here
When Ricardo Tisci was first appointed as the new chief creative officer at Burberry it was a universally approved move, lauded by both critics and retailers, and his debut for Burberry spring/summer 2019 was definitely worth the hype.
The collection was an exciting mishmash of Tisci’s many design influences, with the designer sending out a three-part collection that featured everything from minimalist and glamorous evening wear that wouldn’t look out of place amongst English high society ladies, as well as his signature edgy take on luxury streetwear that would capture the hearts of fashion-obsessed obsessed millennials. According to Tisci, he likened the collection to “a patchwork or a mix of the British lifestyle”.

But while the clothes ranged from the classic to eccentric, it was the accessories that stole our attention. While Tisci is an experienced designer, it is his flair for designing accessories that has validated his reputation today as one of the most exciting designers to watch.
