Ever evolving and transforming, June Rin's urban elegant aesthetic, complemented by an arsenal of accessories, is a reflection of her confidence and insightful persona. The senior consultant and director of Neuro-Anaesthesia at Singapore General Hospital regularly seeks out pieces with a punch, from the Fendi Monster bag to pave-pounding boots from Alexander Wang.

The good doctor takes time off her busy schedule to tell us about her style choices and inspirations.

1. Describe your style. How has it evolved over the years?

Totally mood dependent. It can be absolutely floral and flamboyant, sparkly and bright or all black and sophisticated. I don't have time to put much thought into my outfits so it's usually very spontaneous. However, I try to be appropriate for the occasion and to respect the dress code.

My sense of style has evolved with age and the different looks that designers create. I don't slavishly follow trends, but take ideas from each season and work it into my style.

2. Which pre-fall 2014 or fall/winter 2014 trends have caught your eye?

Lady-like Dior dresses in acid colours. Pastel Gucci pea coats and python boots. Sexy cutouts and rich brocades by Erdem Moralioglu. Beautiful prints and structure by Giles Deacon.

3. What are some of your favourite accessories?

My Lauren Khoo ring, Fendi Monster bag, Vihari Jewels emerald earrings and antique jade from The Canary Diamond Co. I'm very lucky to have received beautiful gifts of vintage jewellery from my mum and mum-in-law. I love the jade, Peranakan and other precious stones I have received over the years.

4. Are there any jewellery brands you favour in particular?

I don't wear jewellery on a day-to-day basis because of work. But I love Cartier and Chopard for their beautiful designs and classic styles, and Dickson Yewn for his intricate oriental designs.

5. What makes a woman stylish?

Confidence, courage and insight.
