Altuzarra

Joseph Altuzarra was inspired by photographer Mapplethorpe’s photographs. “I was drawn to the idea of toughness,” he says. Hence, the accents of leather fringes, studs, buckles and oversized asymmetrical earrings.

Opening looks showed paisley print blouses worn under big-collar shearling bombers and duffle coats, while tailored looks were refreshed with fair-isle knit sleeves and grommet belts.

Delvaux

Belgian label Delvaux’s new collection for autumn/winter 2019 is a testament to its atelier and it’s know how. Crocodile and lizard skins are dyed with the utmost precision in ombré tones, while one of their signature shapes, Madame, is reimagined with beads and quilting.

Another series from the label not to miss is its ongoing homage to Surreal artist, Magritte. Their “Ceci n'est pas un Delvaux” La Diva bag also comes in a sky blue colourway.

Paris Texas

The fashion world is often dominated by big heritage labels and conglomerates, so it’s refreshing to see new brands make an impact. Three-year-old Italian footwear label, Paris Texas, has made a mark everywhere on Instagram—with a following including Emily Ratajkowski and Aimee Song.

Founded by Italian duo Margherita and Annamarie Brivio, Paris Texas’ autumn/winter 2019 collection includes pointed block heels (and stilettos, too) in embossed croc and snakeskin—available in just about any colour you imagine—classic cowboy boots, as well as a variety of animal-print pony hair boots.

Hermès

Set to the soundtrack of David Bowie’s Slip Away, the new season Hermès collection felt comfortable and relaxed. Buttery soft suede coats and jackets with studs opened the show, while silk scarf blouses were paired with refined leather pencil skirts.

It was a collection of brilliant, wearable pieces that exude utmost understated luxury.
