Almost seven months after the departure of Peter Dundas, Roberto Cavalli has named a new creative director: Paul Surridge. The British-born designer trained at the prestigious Central Saint Martins school in London, whose alumni include some of the biggest names in the business, including fashion designers John Galliano and Alexander McQueen. Paul Surridge then worked for Calvin Klein followed by stints at Burberry, Jil Sander, Z Zegna and Acne Studios.

"I am honored and proud to carry forward the legacy of this extraordinary Italian house," said Paul Surridge in a statement. "This is a unique opportunity to contribute a new chapter to the Roberto Cavalli universe, which positively celebrates the beauty, sensuality and power of women."

Paul Surridge will have creative responsibility for all of the brands in the Roberto Cavalli group. His first collection will be presented in Milan in September at the Italian city's spring/summer 2018 fashion week.
