Karl Lagerfeld has collaborated with Japanese beauty giant Shu Uemura on a one-off beauty line set to go on sale internationally this November.

The Chanel creative director is well accustomed to the brand, having used Shu Uemura cosmetics to hand-colour his fashion sketches for over two decades.

The creator has now come up with a special holiday collection for the firm, which will be labelled Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura.

While specific details on the range have not yet been revealed, president of the Karl Lagerfeld brand, Pier Paolo Righi recently told WWD that the products will reflect the designer's "iconic, ironic style."

The Paris-based designer is in charge of the collection's colour selection and packaging, and has already photographed an accompanying campaign.

Lagerfeld has used Shu Uemura cosmetics to colour his illustrations for many years, explaining that "other manufacturers do not offer such beautiful colours."

The designer's previous beauty team-ups include a capsule line comprising eyeshadows, nail polishes, and accessories for French chain Sephora back in November 2011.
