Diamond jewellery is a red carpet staple but the celebrities at the Met Gala took it up a notch this year. We saw luxurious layering of diamonds on Lily Collins and Irina Shayk, and monstrously large rocks that stole the show, notably Doja Cat's innovative headpiece to complete her Choupette-inspired look as well as Dua Lipa's over 200-carat diamond necklace by Tiffany and Co. paired with a vintage 1992 Chanel dress pulled from the archives.
Worn by Serena Williams, Rihanna, Cardi B, and Salma Hayek, pearls were another defining red carpet trend that paid tribute to the late designer, as part of the evening's theme 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty'.
