Two iconic timepieces from the Swiss watchmaker’s Rendez-Vous collection have been treated to designs worthy of the finest high-jewellery collections for 2016. The Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Enamel and the Rendez-Vous Moon High Jewelry combine top-end watchmaking expertise with jewellery-making skills and creativity in two new watches decorated with precious stones.
Jaeger-LeCoultre has brought gold, enamel, diamonds and sapphires to two new Rendez-Vous high-jewellery watches for 2016, in an ode to the technical skill of its watchmakers, as well as meticulous jewel-setting techniques.
Gray Gold and Black Enamel
Jaeger-LeCoultre has matched a gray gold case with an opaque dial in its Rendez-Vous Tourbillon watch for the first time. This makes a striking contrast, ramped up by the 254 brilliant-cut diamonds set on the dial, the bezel, the strap lugs and the crown.
The Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Enamel shows the time in a stylised arc with elongated numerals. It uses the Jaeger-LeCoultre 978 caliber, a self-winding mechanical movement assembled by hand. It has hours and minutes functions, along with a tourbillon complication designed to compensate for gravitational effects. It has a 45-hour power reserve.
A 301-stone Sapphire Sky
The Swiss watchmaker has pulled out all the stops with Rendez-Vous Moon High Jewelry. With its gray gold case, this watch sparkles and shines with a multitude of precious stones, including baguette-cut and snow-set gems, in a veritable ode to jewel-setting techniques.
No less than 301 sapphires of different sizes adorn almost half of the dial, sparkling with playful effects on colour, contrast and shine.
This model uses the Jaeger-LeCoultre 935 caliber, a self-winding mechanical movement. It’s a feminine timepiece that has hours and minutes functions, as well as a refined moon phase complication tracking the different phases of the moon at a glance. The new moon, full moon, first quarter and last quarter are shown against a sky of sapphires. The watch has a 40-hour power reserve.
