How To Receive A Gift From Gucci's Cabinet of Curiosities This Christmas
My wardrobe is in a rut. My girlfriend says that I dress like the Wolf on Wall Street every day—and she is threatening a break up unless I rework my sense of style. (Gordon Gekko would have told me to drop her like a hot stone. But I do love her quite a lot.) That's why I saw this preppy sweater at the Gucci store one day and I knew this would make a good start and an even better impression. Save our relationship please!
Cheers, besotted boyfriend
I'm sooo in love with Ignasi Monreal! He is such a talented Spanish illustrator. This over-sized T-shirt printed with his digital illustration will definitely make an excellent addition to my collection of his works. And I heard he did 80 illustrations for Gucci's Christmas' Gift Catalogue. Lovely! Apparently, the drawings are inspired by Icarus and the concept of "If you fly too close to the sun, you're going to get burned." Am not too sure what the story of Icarus is all about but I'm definitely going to swing by the bookshop to get a book about him. Meanwhile, I really do want this t-shirt, please.
Loads of love, Mrs Monreal
Hey, Papa Claus!
I've been a really good this year, I promise. And all I want for Christmas is this gorgeous perfume. This is the first perfume created under Alessandro Michele's direction and I really love what he is doing. I'm not a nose but I love how the floral notes blend together for this scent. Oh, my sister from another mother (a 100 per cent beauty junkie) told me that perfumer Alberto Morillas, who worked on Bloom, is top-notch. It'll be the perfect fragrance for the holidays!
Brought my mum out to shop last weekend and she hinted that she liked this butterfly keychain. She always had something for butterflies. So I thought it would be nice to gift this to her this Christmas. Otherwise, she may nag non-stop for twelve full days. C'mon, do me a favour. I promise to be good for a while. (Just a short while, okay?) Thank you!
Love, a sweet daughter
Dear Father Christmas,
Confession time: I've been a shopaholic this year. But if you examine it carefully, there are more pros than cons. I'm boosting the economy and in a way, showing appreciation to the craftsmen and artisans, who have pumped in man-hours to creating the products. Plus, I only go for quality, well-made items. Just like this embellished shoulder bag in pink velvet. What's there not to like about it? Nothing really! And I'm really just short of a pink bag in my closet. Last handbag, I promise. Please let me have it this Christmas.
