Harry Winston's Emerald Watch Gets Upsized To 33mm
The Harry Winston Emerald timepiece is the perfect amalgamation of the brand’s jewellery signature with a ladies’ watch. The elegant ticker bears the shape of its namesake founder’s favourite gemstone cut framing its clean, classic dial. With its art deco-style lines, the emerald cut gives a gemstone a vintage-looking yet timeless allure, which works similarly well when interpreted on a watch.
It has been four years since the Emerald debuted in 2016 and now, the collection welcomes a new size variation that will provide women with an option of a larger watch. While the original petite case size—24mm by 17.75mm—complements women’s wrists in a more traditionally elegant way, the bolder Emerald 33mm (as it is named by the brand) is a response to modern-day demands. The new variant measures 39.3mm by 33.3mm.

Available in white or rose gold, the octagonal case is enhanced with bevelled edges and a lustrous shine that mimic the facets of a cut gemstone. With more space on the dial, the Emerald 33mm now has a bevelled date window at 6 o’clock—a feature that would have made the dial of the original variant look crowded.

A larger case size also means that it is now possible to equip the watch with a mechanical movement—the automatic calibre HW2003 with a power reserve of 72 hours. Its caseback reveals a skeletonised rotor crafted in white gold with details of the finishing—the Côtes de Genève stripes and circular graining pattern—on the various movement components. To cater to the modern woman looking for a reliable timepiece, Harry Winston has also endowed the movement with a flat silicon balance spring. This way, the movement boasts stronger resistance to magnetism, better rate stability, and greater efficiency in delivering energy to the balance wheel. Simply put, it will continue to run in tip-top shape over the years.

For those who prefer their watches to run efficiently and continuously, a quartz option remains in the upsized Emerald. Both quartz and automatic models are available in two colour combinations—a silver opaline dial with a rose gold case or a blue dial with a white gold case. For those who can’t resist sparkle on their watches, the Emerald Quartz 33mm watch also comes in a diamond‑set version for both colour combinations. With these new extensions to the collection, the Emerald is shaping up to be a versatile classic for women in more ways than one.
