There is three times the fun as Franck Muller breathes new life to its legendary Cintree Curvex Master Banker watch—with special editions for Asia, at that

In 1996, Franck Muller introduced the Master Banker watch, which boasted three separate time indicators on the dial, each with its own hour and minute hands. The design was considered revolutionary then because watchmaker extraordinaire Muller himself provided an innovative solution to a conundrum financial experts the world over face: How to sync the trades with all the major markets across Asia, Europe and the US?

With the Master Banker, the wearer can set three time zones—just by using the crown—and view the different timings at a single glance thanks to the two additional sub-dials. Hence the watch's name and its immense popularity among the bankers, financial whizzes and their high-flying friends.

This year, the watchmaker builds on the model’s legacy by introducing new exclusive variations of the Cintree Curvex Master Banker. A 700-piece limited-edition collection, the Cintree Curvex Master Banker Asia Exclusive is available at Franck Muller boutiques and selected watch retailers across Asia.

The watch's success formula remains untouched: the iconic three-time-zone complication is still housed in the equally legendary Cintree Curvex case, which is the most distinctive case shape of the watchmaker. The generous and beautiful curves of the tonneau-shaped case add to its iconic identity as with the brand's trademark numerals on the dial.

Powered by the self-winding calibre MVD 2800-MBSC that is fitted with a bi-directional rotor, the watch boasts a power reserve of 42 hours with local time being indicated by the central hour, minute and seconds hands. The aperture at eight o'clock reveals the date synchronised to the local time.

The other two sub-dials at twelve and six o'clock represent the time in the second and third time zones respectively. As easy as it is to read time, setting time is also a cinch. All adjustments are done via the crown.

The crown can be actuated in three positions: the first is for winding, the middle to set the two time zones, and the last to set local time. The patented multi-time zone mechanism is based on a system that features an additional pinion to drive the second and third time zones, while local time is driven by the movement’s standard gear train.

Offered in seven vibrant colour combinations, the new Franck Muller Cintree Curvex Master Banker is available in two sizes—36.00mm x 50.40mm (Ref 7880) and 39.60mm x 55.40mm (Ref 8880). Here are a few that caught our eyes

In typical Franck Muller fashion, the Cintree Curvex Master Banker Asia Exclusive boasts a brushed sunray-finish dial underneath the domed sapphire crystal. Available in rose gold, stainless steel, or hand-polished blackened steel, the watch comes in two sizes—36.00mm x 50.40mm (Ref 7880) and 39.60mm x 55.40mm (Ref 8880). There are also seven colour combinations to choose from—nobody said choosing the right Franck Muller piece is as easy as telling time across three time zones on a watch.
