From Marc Jacobs’ revamp of a 2000s’ It bag to Berluti’s chic weekender luggage, these upsized handbags will make you rethink the micro-bag
We like big bags and we cannot lie—and neither can major fashion houses. As per the swinging pendulum of fashion trends, bag silhouettes are moving away from mini and towards mega, and both brands and celebrities are putting larger purses back on the fashion map. Whether you’re looking to buy a spacious, sturdy bag for travel or to stay on top of fashion trends, we have shortlisted five big bags to have on your radar this season.

1. Marc Jacobs
After a hiatus of more than 10 years, Marc Jacobs has revived its iconic Stam bag, named after popular noughties’ model Jessica Stam, who also stars in the new campaign. First seen on the autumn-winter runway of 2005, the accessory quickly became the It bag of the mid-2000s and was flaunted by the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna and Lindsay Lohan. The 2023 iteration remains true to the original: from its quilted leather and its doctor’s bag-like structure right down to the shoulder straps and long metallic chain.
