Hyun Bin being a fashion designer wasn’t on our bingo card for 2023, but Italian fashion brand Loro Piana has made it a reality nonetheless.

The two have teamed up for a limited-edition collaboration of shoes and hats. “This project was born from the love for nature and outdoor life that I share with the brand,” said the South Korean actor, who became a Loro Piana ambassador in 2021, in a statement.

Hyun Bin’s role was more hands-on than you’d expect from a celebrity collaboration. The Crash Landing On You star worked alongside Loro Piana’s team at its Milan headquarters and even paid a visit to its factories when making his design decisions. The actor chose a beech tree motif to appear across the exclusive collaboration, comprising exclusive Summer Walk shoes and baseball hats.

The shoes, a Loro Piana signature, come in earthy hues like deep forest green and teal blue, and each pair is adorned with a beech tree charm. As for the hats, each style features an embroidered tree motif.

“With nature, we live a close and interdependent relationship: the maison creates handcrafted garments with timeless elegance starting from the noblest natural fibers. I take refuge and yearn for nature to excel in my work,” said Hyun Bin.
