For the first time, the house of Dior will be holding a runway show in South Korea.

The French luxury fashion brand will be taking over the Ewha Womans University in Seoul tonight to showcase its Fall/Winter 2022 collection.

Designed by Dior artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri, the collection will spotlight the heritage and craftsmanship of Seoul and will be unveiled as what Dior calls “visual poetry”.

The setting for the upcoming Dior fashion show is deliberate: Ewha Womans University is one of the biggest female educational institutes in the world, and Dior has now tapped on it to be part of its Women@Dior mentorship programme.

Together, both Dior and Ewha will create educational programmes and events to inspire and nurture future leaders, as well as empower women to promote gender equality in society.

There is another likely reason that Dior is finally heading to South Korea. Blackpink’s Jisoo, its most buzzy brand ambassador, might be attending the fashion show as she has done over the past few seasons but this time in her home country.
