"Don't Call Me An Instagram Influencer," Says Stephanie Er
She might have over 41,000 followers on Instagram, but the last thing that Stephanie Er (@pooburr) wants anyone to call her is an influencer. Always on the move, Stephanie is a modern-day creative who values meaningful relationships and seeks inspiration from good energy at her juice bar and coffeeshop, A Juicery.
Located in the central business district in Singapore, it is anchored as a centrepiece for connections for dynamic individuals from all walks of life to congregate under one roof. “You can have a lot of money and buy a lot of nice things, but if you're a fake influencer who copies everything people do and take photographs of it, then that's not real life," she stresses. "To me, real life is about the people who walk into my shop and talk to me. I know what they do and I get to know their genuine personalities. Not the fake personas that people like to portray on social media.”

For Stephanie, dressing up is part of the job. “I might work in a café but it’s located in the central business district so I try not to look sloppy. I would like to think that when someone comes in for coffee they could be tired or stressed out, and it helps that the person they see not only gives them good customer service, but they’re dressed like they care what they look like," she tells us. "I love interacting with people, but I don't get to meet them as often now as I hardly go out. So working at the shop and talking to people really makes me feel inspired."
Describing her style as eclectic, Ck Calvin Klein is one of the brands she finds herself going back to often, with Stephanie valuing the comfort and class that they exude, even till today. It helps that the label’s message per season is ever-changing, offering Stephanie a vast collection of easy, everyday pieces that allow her to get dressed without giving much thought. An important factor when crafting her daily ensembles, given that the entrepreneur has to juggle her early morning starts with a young child in tow.

Sharing a similar excitement for fun, unexpected and sophisticated designs, she enjoys the new direction of the brand. “There are pieces that will always be classics and they’re timeless in that sense, take the underwear for example—those are my staples, especially for plane travel. But you also have super futuristic pieces like a see-through vinyl coat—and I like it when people push boundaries and try to shake things up.”
