Cara Delevingne and Pharrell join forces for epic Chanel video

What do you get when you mix the model of the moment, a music legend and a fashion icon? Well, put simply, you get the latest Chanel video. Chosen for their starring roles, Cara is the house's face of the upcoming campaign while Pharrell is not only a close friend of Karl Lagerfeld's, but created the soundtrack for the campaign.

Released in conjunction with the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Metiers d'art collection which will be shown in Salzburg, Austria in December, 2014, the video sees the re-imagination of the creation of the Chanel jacket, through Karl Lagerfeld's eyes. In this version, a young Gabrielle Chanel is vacationing in Salzburg in 1954, where she encouters a young lift-boy, played by Pharrell. His sense of style and the way he wears his jacket later inspires the young Chanel when it comes to designing the now iconic Chanel jacket.

Speaking of the campaign, Karl Lagerfeld added: “It was time to show the origins of the CHANEL jacket, inspired by the one worn by the lift attendant in a hotel near Salzburg in the 1950s. Reincarnation is the story of a lift attendant’s jacket being reincarnated as a timeless piece of women’s wear. None of this would have been possible without Pharrell Williams, Cara Delevingne and Geraldine Chaplin. It’s the perfect cast. Pharrell is a genius and Geraldine at her best in the role of Gabrielle Chanel in the year of her comeback.”

And if you want to catch the video, 'Reincarnation' will be shown on December 1st, before the Chanel show. Chanel is sold at various locations across Singapore, for more information, see here
