From iconic jewellery and watches to updated bags and perfumes (and also the cutest bellboy trinkets), there's something traditional and something modern – for just about everyone on your list

It has been a game-changing—and some say, even bizarre—year.

We've been shuttered indoors. The lower halves of our faces are sheathed in masks. Our loved ones are so near yet so far, thanks to social distancing measures. And most of us haven't seen the insides of a plane cabin for months.

Yet some things stay the same and shopping for Christmas gifts is one of those. In fact, after not having seen your family and friends for this long (well, not all at once, under one roof, at least), make that extra effort to get them something special to wrap up 2020.

And Cartier makes it that much easier for you to curate your list. Since 1880, the brand has been inspired by everyday objects, elevating them into memorable keepsakes. From an iconic watch to a heartwarming baby rattle, a luxurious handbag to a useful notebook, it's all about the desire to bring joy to yourself and others.

Here, five of our favourites from Cartier that we want to give (and also receive).

1. Clash de Cartier ring

The brand's stable of instantly recognisable rings includes the Juste un Clou, the Trinity and its Love wedding band. Now, add the Clash de Cartier to your checklist. This showcases Cartier's love for geometry which dates back to the 1930s. It's also a study in contrasts, combining a structured silhouette with a soft touch, and boasting interconnected studs that remain moveable.

2. La Panthère perfume

Back in 2014, the La Panthère Eau de Parfum was a chypre with mesmerising gardenia and sensual musk. It has now been made even sexier and warmer with a note of osmanthus.

3. Must de Cartier bag

It's hard to miss this, with its XXL embossed and saddle-stitched Cartier medallion. When the Must bag was launched in 1973, it was an immediate hit—its burgundy hue even became known as Cartier's signature colour. The new edition is just as iconic but now includes a redesigned burgundy lambskin lining and a secret pocket containing an engraved mirror.

4. Pasha de Cartier watch

A cult design since 1985, this coveted timepiece fits a square filigree rail-track within the circle of its dial, catching the attention of those who like their watches non-conformist. The latest model is made with the brand's QuickSwitch system, an invisible mechanism located under the case which lets you change the strap with a single push.

5. The new Cartier collection of objects

Launched in time for the gifting season, this is made up of four lines: Decoration, Writing, Baby and Games. The objects of desire in each are inscribed with the brand's panther, double C or ribbon and motifs, and include everything from trinket trays and sketchpads to an egg cup and the Diabolo de Cartier bellboy key ring.
