The Roman jewellery maison takes inspiration from one of the most magnificent periods in European history

Bulgari comes full circle as it celebrates its Roman roots with the launch of the latest haute joaillerie collection, Barocko. The Italian jeweller's latest collection draws inspiration from the rich Baroque heritage of the magnificent city of Rome, evoking the period's joie de vivre and extravagance.

Characterised by vibrant colours, exquisite details and fanciful shapes, Barocko conveys a message of hope and optimism and is divided into three themes, Luce (Light), Meraviglia (Wonder), and Colore (Colour), each alluding to Bulgari’s penchant for celebrating life and beauty. Here's a closer look at some of the highlights:

Luce

For Luce, one of the highlights is the Serpenti Spell diamond bracelet-ring inspired by the Fountain of the Four Rivers in Rome’s Piazza Navona. The unconventional piece, which requires 500 hours of work to complete, enchants with the ethereal allure of the serpent and echoes the decorative art of henna tattoos.

A rare, yellow diamond sourced in Hong Kong sits regally atop the Raggio di Luce, an opulent and highly refined ring that calls to mind the extraordinary light effects of Bernini's sculpture, Ecstasy of Saint Teresa.

Meraviglia

A standout in the Meraviglia collection is the Ruby Drapery earrings, which exhibit the delicate interplay between white gold, diamonds and ruby. Reminiscent of marble drapery, the cascading earrings accentuate the neck for a truly elegant look.

Colore

Bulgari's unique flair with coloured gems is vibrantly showcased in the Cabochon Exuberance necklace that features tanzanites and aquamarines, as well as rubellites and emeralds which are sourced from Jaipur. This is a truly opulent piece poised to capture all the right attention.

Perhaps the most quintessential Baroque-inspired jewellery in the entire Barocko collection is the exquisite Lady Arabesque necklace replete with voluptuous lines and a kaleidoscope of precious gemstones. This piece symbolises Bulgari's unprecedented convergence of eccentricity and sophistication.
