Two heads are better than one, and this year has been a stellar season for collaborations between high-end labels, sportswear brands and even low-cost retailers. From Nike’s ten-piece sneaker release with Virgil Abloh’s Off-White to the latest Uniqlo collab drop (which this season features French luxury designer Christophe Lemaire), here are the seven best men’s fashion collaborations in 2018

1. Fendi X Fila

This collaboration between Fendi and Fila, dubbed ‘Fendi Mania’, sees the union of two Italian icons—one a luxury fashion house, the other a 90s-inspired sportswear brand.

Stamped in a Fila-esque Fendi logo designed by Instagram artist Hey Reilly, as well as Fendi’s ‘FF’ symbol, the predominantly black collection with flecks of white, red, orange and gold, features men’s t-shirts, fleece tops, puffer coats, track jackets, footwear and bags. A go-to for your sports-luxe pieces.

2. Vetements X Alpha Industries

Long-time design cohorts Vetements and Alpha Industries returned this year with the perfect men’s jacket, thanks to the U.S. aviation jacket maker-cum-streetwear brand letting the cult French fashion label redesign its popular bomber jacket for Fall.

In black, key features include the Vetements-inspired oversize fit with a cool street aesthetic, seen in the Demna Gvasalia-helmed label’s recognised ‘Antwerpen’ print. Not into the bold? There’s also a black or olive version available too.

3. Nike X Off-White

One of the most anticipated collabs in the last year comes from Nike and Off-White. The U.S. sports giant has tapped the Milan-based streetwear brand, helmed by Virgil Abloh (who is also men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton), for a capsule called ‘The Ten’.

The collab is a teaser of sorts, and sees 10 of Nike’s most iconic sneakers redesigned in Off-White’s industrial street-tech style and rolled out over twelve months. The Nike Blazer Mid model is the latest drop for October and comes in classic Halloween colourways—orange or black.

4. Moschino x H&M

Jeremy Scott has taken his naughty nineties pop style to the masses with the Moschino X H&M collaboration.

The luxury Italian brand has cut a 90s street-meets-rap-video collection with the Swedish fast-fashion chain with must-have men’s fashion items—louche track pants and hoodies with MTV and Disney monikers, as well as nostalgic tees—rolling around in the mix.

5. Gucci x Dapper Dan

Gucci takes its lead from the archives of Dapper Dan this year, recreating some of the Harlem-based designer’s most striking looks from the '80s.

The tie-up also meant a new Gucci logo in yellow, which lights up pieces such as tracksuits in luxurious fabrics, denim in late '80s washes and fits and GG canvas jacquard jackets. It’s one of the most retro-luxe releases this year.

It’s reunion time for Uniqlo and Christophe Lemaire. The French fashion designer has returned to the Japanese retail chain for the Lemaire X Uniqlo collab, following a successful joining in 2016.

Marking Fall/Winter, comfortable fabrics collide with loose cuts and warm hues like red and fuchsia feature in the contemporary minimalist range. Key pieces for men include the more casual boxy tee and slouchy rollnecks, as well as tech-infused outerwear—thanks to Uniqlo’s innovative textiles.

7. Ralph Lauren x Mr Porter

The Ralph Lauren X Mr Porter collab is for the modern, well-rounded stylish gentleman. A whopping 83 pieces celebrating the New York brand’s 50th birthday has dropped at Mr Porter, and is made up of pieces from the Purple Label (velvet blazers and suiting); the RRL collection (plaid shirts and shearling jackets); and of course, the cult-classic Polo Ralph Lauren, featuring collegiate polos and sports jackets.
