Capturing the candid moments in between takes, Asia Tatler shows you what went on at Singapore Tatler’s August fashion spread with the glamorous Stephanie Lee

When the invitation to discover the beautiful Karma Kandara resort in Bali arrived at the office, it didn't take long for the Singapore Tatler team to decide on doing a resort-luxe fashion shoot. Pictures tell a thousand words after all, and for a cliff-top getaway this spectacular, capturing its beauty for an eight-page fashion editorial was the only way to go.

Specially chosen to star in this spread, banker Stephanie Lee took in the sun, sand and sea in pre-fall and fall/winter fashion for a spread in Singapore Tatler's August 2011 issue. To her and the team's delight, her other half, Choo Ken-Yi came along to provide much love, laughter and support, while planning one of the biggest surprises for his leading lady.

As the team arrives at the resort, the first item on the five-day itinerary is a reconnaissance of the premises including restaurant di Mare, roof top bar Temple Lounge, the Karma Spa and Nammos Private Beach Club, which can only be accessed by taking a scenic ride on an inclinator. Everyone grabs every opportunity to snap photographs of themselves and the limitless vista of ocean and sky, while photographer Ching and his assistant diligently take shots of potential shoot spots.

Everyone shifts into high gear for the next two days to execute a series of eight shots with looks by Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Pucci, Burberry and La Perla, accessorised by Louis Vuitton. Hair and makeup by Face Bistro's Dily Wang and Hair Philosophy's Eileen Koh starts at 9am in the team's four-bedroom villa, but not before the most important meal of the day is heartily tucked into.

Three days of preparations and shoots, half a day of beach-lounging and 10 family-style meals later, the team bid adieu to Karma Kandara's staff and equally friendly monkeys, as well as managing director of Karma Resorts, Michael Luible and his wife, Louise Hsiao.

Above all the happy memories and candid photographs that the Singapore Tatler team took away from the trip, Karma Kandara will forever hold special meaning for Lee and Choo. On the second night of their stay, over a romantic dinner for two, Lee's dessert arrived a lot sweeter than she had expected - with a dazzling ring at the centre, and Choo proposing on bended knee. And being in Bali, Choo chose the most fitting way to break the good news - by writing it in the sand.
