The show will take place in Paris just a day before the start of Haute Couture Fashion Week

The House of Alaia is returning to the world of fashion! Announced just last week, the brand will show its first collection in four years on July 4, just one day before Haute Couture Fashion Week, reports WWD.

Among many things, the show will mark many firsts: one, it marks newly appointed creative director Pieter Mulier's first solo show; two, it will be the first show the house has shown since Azzedine Alaia's passing in 2017; and last but not least, it will be the first time that the house jointly presents its ready-to-wear and couture collections.

Mulier, a seasoned hand in fashion, having followed Raf Simons from Jil Sander, to Dior, and Calvin Klein, was appointed as the creative director of the brand earlier this year in February.

"It is an absolute dream to join this prestigious Maison, its beautiful ateliers and its talented team," Mulier said in a statement at the time. "Always ahead of his time and open to all arts and cultures, Azzedine Alaia’s powerful vision has served as an inspiration, as he always sought to give the necessary time to innovative and enduring creation."

We can't wait to see what this fashion virtuoso dreams up from the codes of Alaia this July.
