The American fashion brand has finally confirmed the appointment of its new design leader.

For several months, rumours have been spreading that Raf Simons will join Calvin Klein after leaving Dior last October and fans of the Belgian fashion designer have been waiting eagerly for good news. The American fashion brand has just announced the appointment of Simons as its new chief creative officer via an Instagram post.

In his new role, Simons will head the creative departments for the Calvin Klein brand globally. That includes the Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Platinum, Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans, Calvin Klein Underwear and Calvin Klein Home brands.

“The arrival of Raf Simons as Chief Creative Officer signifies a momentous new chapter for Calvin Klein,” says Steve Shiffman, CEO of Calvin Klein, Inc.

Joining him will be his longtime right-hand man, Pieter Mulier who also appeared in the 2014 documentary, Dior and I. Mulier joins Calvin Klein as its new crative director. He will be carrying out the visions set by Simons for the menswear, womenswear and accessories lines of the Calvin Klein brand.

Look out for Simons’ creations in the upcoming autumn/winter 2017 runway which will be his debut collection for Calvin Klein.
