1/5 Two Songs and a Story

What Catch a video series featuring five solo performances by local musicians, Ants Chua, Inch Chua, Jo Tan, Rebekah Sangeetha Dorai and Weish in this digital production that blends music and a delicately woven narrative for the socially distanced. This intimate experience speaks to the power of human connection and showcases the multifaceted portrait of strength and fragility, along with peace and disruption. It is directed by photographer Joel Lim, as well as award-winning playwright, co-founder and joint artistic director of Checkpoint Theatre, Huzir Sulaiman.

What Experience moments of kinship and longing through the lens of an unnamed female traveller in this exhibition, as she takes on the role of both photographer and protagonist, guiding audiences through a series of poems and images traversing through diverse places of the world. The works on display is the result of a collaboration between literary artists and storytellers Marc Nair and Tsen-Waye Tay, exhibited at Alliance Française de Singapour.

What Singapore-based visual artist Ashley Yeo hosts her solo exhibition at Mizuma Gallery, featuring a slew of new paper sculptures in a variety of colours. Choosing paper as her main medium, the artist references its ability to be manipulated to construct delicate structures and visual textures, all while retaining a precious fragility in its presentation. Works on display will also be showcased in tandem with the space that it inhibits to enhance the inherent spirituality of simple materials.

4/5 Image and Sound In Spite Of

What 40 artists, including fellow alumni and artist-educators from Lasalle College of the Arts, showcase their works in a group exhibition, exploring the facets of creativity during a time of self-isolation and quarantine. Audiences can access the online gallery via Tropical Lab, an annual international art camp hosted by Lasalle, which has seen 13 editions and over 260 international postgraduate students gather for creative experimentation over the course of a fortnight. The exhibition, which is titled Image and Sound In Spite Of, is specially curated by Cultural Medallion winner Milenko Prvacki, and features artists such as Singapore-based visual artist Urich Lau as well as animation filmmaker Ang Qing Sheng.
