Leading lights in their respective fields, these outstanding business heads shine not only for their personal accomplishments but also for their significant contributions in revolutionising their industries.


Edmund Cheng Wai Wing

Deputy chairman and deputy managing director of Wing Tai Holdings, Edmund Cheng is also the chairman of SATS and Mapletree Investments. Cheng was conferred The Public Service Star in 2010 and Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2009. The former chairman of The Esplanade Co is a member of the International Council for Asia Society.


Dorothy Chan

Dorothy Chan is the daughter of the late property tycoon Ng Teng Fong and the executive director of Far East Organization. The Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry awarded her with the SG50 Outstanding Chinese Business Pioneers Award in 2015. She also sits on the board of Jurong Health Services.


Alan Chan Heng Loon

Alan Chan is the CEO of Singapore Press Holdings, and oversees its print, internet, outdoor advertising, broadcasting, telephony and property businesses. He sits on the board of SPH as well as its subsidiaries. The Public Administration Medal and Meritorious Service Medal recipient is a member of the Public Service Commission and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra Council.


Chan Soo Khian

Chan Soo Khian is the founding principal and design director of architectural firm SCDA. He is the principal design architect for the Soori High Line, a luxury condominium development in West Chelsea, New York, which marks his third global Soori-branded offering. He is the recipient of several awards, including the inaugural President’s Design Award.


Richard Chandler

Ranked eight on Forbes’ Singapore’s 50 Richest list 2015, Richard Chandler is the chairman of private investment group Chandler Corporation which counts a 19 per cent stake in InterOil Corporation and almost 10 per cent in Africa Oil Corporation, both Canadian oil and gas companies, as part of its assets. The New Zealand-born businessman also founded the Freedom to Create Prize.


Brian Chang

Brian Chang is the chairman and CEO of Calm Oceans, which owns the patent for the design and application of the Mono Column Platform, a jack-up rig he co-developed with rig designer Peter William Nimmo. The veteran in the offshore oil and gas industry was also the founder of Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore and has managed over 600 marine construction projects.


Chang Yun Chung

Executive chairman of Pacific International Lines, Chang Yun Chung led a once small coastal operator to become one of the leading shipping companies globally. The shipping magnate was conferred the International Maritime Centre (Individual) Award by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore in 2015 for his contribution to the Singapore shipping industry.


Cheng Wai Keung

Cheng Wai Keung is the chairman and managing director of Wing Tai Holdings. He is also the deputy chairman of Temasek Holdings, vice-chairman of Singapore-Suzhou Township Development and a director of Singapore Health Services. A Justice of Peace since 2000, he has been active in community service and grassroots organisations for nearly 30 years. He was bestowed the Distinguished Service Order in 2007.


Chew Choon Seng

Chew Choon Seng is the chairman of the Singapore Exchange and Singapore Tourism Board. The former CEO of Singapore Airlines is a member of the board of the National Gallery Singapore and GIC. He was named Outstanding CEO for 2007 at the 2008 Singapore Business Awards.


Chew Thiam Keng

CEO and executive director of Ezion Holdings, a provider of offshore marine services to the oil and gas industry, Chew Thiam Keng oversees its operations in strategic planning, corporate management and business development. The former independent director of Multi-Chem is also equipped with corporate finance and retail banking experience from his time at DBS.


Choo Chong Ngen

Choo Chong Ngen is the founder of Hotel 81 chain, a 24-hotel chain with more than 3,000 rooms across the island. Ranked No. 22 on Forbes’ Singapore’s 50 Richest 2015, he also runs the chains of Value and V Hotels in Singapore. He established the Hotel 81-Choo Chong Ngen Bursary in 2015 to benefit needy Singaporean undergraduate students at SMU.


Chua Sock Koong

Chua Sock Koong is the group CEO of Singtel and sits on the boards of Bharti Airtel and Bharti Telecom. She is also a member of the Singapore Management University board of trustees and the Public Service Commission. She was inducted into the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame by the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations in 2014.


Chua Thian Poh

Chua Thian Poh is the chairman and CEO of the Ho Bee Group. He is also the chairman of Business China, Ren Ci Hospital and the board of trustees of Chinese Development Assistance Council. The former president of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry was bestowed the Distinguished Service Order for his leading role in the Chinese community.


John Chuang Tiong Choon

With over three decades of experience in the confectionery and cocoa industries, John Chuang is the group CEO of Petra Foods. Under his stewardship, the company’s global presence has grown and its chocolate products are sold in over 10 countries. He was conferred the 2011 Businessman of the Year at the Singapore Business Awards.


Fang Ai Lian

Adviser to Far East Organization, Fang Ai Lian is on the board of directors of several companies including Banyan Tree Holdings, Metro Holdings and Mediacorp. The former chairman of Great Eastern currently chairs the board of trustees of the Singapore Business Federation and was most recently appointed as chairperson of the Medishield Life Council in July 2015. She is also a member of the governing board of Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore and SUTD’s board of trustees.


Fock Siew Wah

Group Chairman of PSA International, Fock Siew Wah is also a member of the Temasek Advisory Panel and chairman of Pavilion Capital Holdings. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 1997 and the Distinguished Service Order in 2009, as well as Belgium’s Commander of the Order of the Crown in 2014. He also entered Lloyd’s List of Top 100 list of most influential figures in shipping that same year.


Goh Cheng Liang

Goh Cheng Liang is the founder of Nippon Paint (Singapore), which started in 1955 as the main local distributor of Nippon Paint. The company eventually grew to become Singapore’s first paint manufacturing plant. The paint tycoon was also chosen by Forbes Asia as one of its Heroes of Philanthropy in 2014, and is ranked 3rd on Forbes’ Singapore’s 50 Richest list in 2015.


Goh Choon Phong

CEO of Singapore Airlines, Goh Choon Phong is also a board director of SIA Engineering Company, Mount Alvernia Hospital and Virgin Australia Holdings. He is a member of the National University of Singapore board of trustees and a Care and Share Committee member of the SG50 Steering Committee led by National Council of Social Service.


Goh Geok Khim

Goh Geok Khim is the executive chairman of GK Goh Holdings and chairman of Boardroom, an SGX-listed company providing corporate and advisory services. He led GK Holdings in acquiring a near-half stake in Domain Principal, Australia’s top provider of residential aged care services. He also chairs Temasek Foundation and serves as a non-executive independent chairman of Jafpa.


Goh Hup Jin

Son of paint tycoon Goh Cheng Liang, Goh Hup Jin is the chairman of Nippon Paint South East Asia (NIPSEA) Management Group and the executive director of Nippon Paint Holdings. He is also the director of his family-owned firm the Wuthelam Group, which owns 30.3 per cent of Nippon Paint.


Tommie Goh Thiam Poh

Chairman of 2G Capital, a private investment company, Tommie Goh is also the founder of JIT Holdings and a shareholder of Midas Holdings. Goh was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2002 and was conferred the Doctor of Philosophy by Wisconsin International University in 2000.
