The Nutcracker

What Singapore Dance Theatre perform quintessential Christmas ballet The Nutcracker at Esplanade. When little Clara's nutcracker doll comes to life, she is swept up into an enchanting adventure, fighting the evil Mouse King and travelling to the Land of Snow and the magical Kingdom of Sweets. The production is given sparkle by stunning costumes and stage sets by local designer Aaron Yap, and set to the iconic musical score by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Treasures Of The Natural World

What This interactive exhibition at ArtScience Museum displays over 200 star exhibits from London's prestigious Natural History Museum, brought to South East Asia for the first time. Marvel at the skeleton of a sabre-toothed tiger, wonder at a 'cursed' amethyst, and see items from historical voyages of exploration. Exhibition highlights include a handwritten page from Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species, one of the most influential books ever published.

Gardens By The Bay

What It's looking very festive at Gardens by the Bay this December, as two events run over the holiday period. Christmas Wonderland promises ice skating, fairground rides, a Santa's Grotto (with some excellent gifts), entertainment including the Ethiopian Circus Abyssinia, and a wide range of delicious food at the festive market, all set amongst dazzling light sculptures. Poinsettia Wishes transforms the Flower Dome into a Nordic winter wonderland, complete with a gigantic lavvu—a dwelling used by the Sami, an indigenous people from the Arctic region of Northern Scandinavia—and Northern Lights projected onto the dome's ceiling. 

When Christmas Wonderland runs December 1 to 26; Poinsettia Wishes runs until January 8

Toddler Art Workshops At SAM

What Got a budding Picasso on your hands? Why not find out with these workshops run by Singapore Art Museum. Designed for children aged between 18 months to four years old, the sessions explore colour and other basic elements of art through sensory play and art making. The sessions encourage learning and development with a range of hands-on, engaging activities. Each workshop has a different theme, and children can take their masterpieces home afterwards.

Prudential Marina Bay Carnival

What Singapore's biggest carnival is coming to town. Expect a wonderland of carnival rides, games, entertainment and food in the city's iconic Marina Bay. There's lots of rides and games for smaller visitors, as well as challenges for even the biggest and bravest—reach 96km/hr in under eight seconds in the heart-pounding Booster Maxx, or experience the sensation of flying 35 metres above the ground in the Star Flyer. Foodies are well-catered for, with over 20 curated food stalls each week.

Little Day Outing To The Reel World

What Lights, camera, action! Get your family's creative juices flowing with this movie-making workshop, conducted by award-winning TV producer Tracy Wong. In the green surroundings of Hort Park, families will be guided through the steps of making a short movie in a fun and engaging way. At the end of the day you'll get to take your finished movies home.

Twilight Encounters

What It's all glow at the Night Safari this holiday period. Light sculptures and glowing walking trails show the nocturnal wildlife park in a different light, whilst special sessions allow visitors to get up close and personal with night-time animals. Other activities include energetic Thumbuakar dance shows, fluorescent face-painting, and a blacklight photobooth.

Circus! Science Under The Big Top

What Science Centre Singapore is always a great choice for holiday adventures—with more exhibitions than it's possible to see in just one visit, and lots of learning opportunities, it's an interactive, engaging destination for the whole family. The hot draw for this December is temporary exhibition Circus! Science Under The Big Top, which teaches children the science behind circus performances, and includes activities such as magic workshops, circus fancy dress, elastic acrobatics and the chance to walk a three-metre-high tightrope.

Minions Cafe

What Minion-mania reaches new heights with a pop-up Minion-themed cafe. Located on Level Three of Orchard Central shopping mall, the cafe's menu is entirely based around the show-stealing sidekicks from Despicable Me, and lets you feed your little ones treats such as Minion’s Great Escape Cream Stew, S’more & Minion’s Ice Cream, or Despicable Me Curry. It's the first Minion cafe outside Japan.
