1/4Mexican Film Festival 2019

What Mexican cinema has long been regarded as a force to be reckoned with after securing spots commercial cinemas and within the global circuit of film festivals and art houses. Screening a total of seven films at The Projector and NUS Shaw Foundation Alumni House, the festival opens with Museo (Museum in English)—an award-winning film inspired by the biggest heist in Mexico's history—and includes a post-show dialogue session with the scriptwriter and co-producer, Manuel Alcala.

What The world's biggest music festival brand Ultra Worldwide has brought some of the biggest DJs to Singapore since 2015 and this year is no exception. Despite the recent venue change and the announcement of headline act Dutch DJ Martin Garrix cancelling his show due to an unfortunate injury, there's still much to look forward to at this two-day music blowout with Grammy-award winning American DJ Skrillex and Porter Robinson taking over the decks on stage.

What Fans of Japanese culture will be thrilled to find out about the highly anticipated Summer Matsuri 2019 event taking place for the first time at Resorts World Sentosa this year. Known as a Japanese festival that celebrates various joyous occasions throughout the year, the Singapore-held event includes highlights such as a Japanese traditional street lantern performance where lanterns are hung on 12m high bamboo poles and hoisted into the air. Apart from that, participants can also embark on a special donburi adventure to vote for the best one out of six bowls, created by finalists of the Furusato Matsuri in Tokyo, Japan, among many exciting others.

4/4International Women Photographers Award 2019 Exhibition

What In an effort to encourage more women to take up professional photography, the International Women's Photographer Association, in collaboration with the Alliance Française de Singapour, have come together to host an exhibition presenting a selection of works of those who participated in the competition this year. In line with the theme of fraternity, witness how it is explored through the diverse moments of celebration and global events—from the onset of Brexit to the happenings of child marriage in India—all through the lens of a women photographer.
