What Directed by conductor Lan Shui, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra perform Mahler's majestic seventh symphony at the Esplanade Concert Hall. Leading the audience on a journey from night to day, the work has divided critics with its tonal complexity and sonic range, moving from dreamy moonlight moods to dances tinged with the nightmarish and grotesque. Filled with contrasts, highlights and shadows, the uplifting final movement represents dawn banishing the night's demons and  drenching the world in golden light.
