What Set to cover the city in a celebration of the creative arts, the annual event is now in its sixth edition—and considerably longer than a week, as the sharp-eyed may have spotted. Expect a mega 12 days of arts, culture, music and performance. Highlights include pioneering art fair Art Stage, Art From the Streets—a retrospective which brings big names (including Banksy, Obey and Futura) to ArtScience Museum—and the Civic District transformed by Light to Night. Not sure where to go with so much going on? Take a look at our top picks for the festival.

What Another cultural highlight hits town this weekend. This time, the focus is on contemporary theatre, dance and performance, as the annual M1 Singapore Fringe Festival presents a diverse and dramatic lineup of performances, workshops and events celebrating the best of contemporary and cutting-edge performance art. This year's festival takes its title—Let's Walk—from a performance work by artist Amanda Heng, in which she interrogated notions of female beauty, conformity, and the expectations of society. Highlights include The Immortal Sole, a retelling of classic fairytale The Little Mermaid; If There's Not Dancing at the Revolution, I'm Not Coming, a richly-textured solo show by New Zealand- based artist Julia Croft; and a reprisal of Amanda Heng's participatory work.

The pop-up book store will remain at Great World City for at least the next four months, and will launch with an opening party on Saturday. Young writers will create on-the-spot poetry and prose pieces based on teleportation-related prompts drawn at random; drop by for a drink, some cake, and some literary goodness.
