This National Day weekend, enjoy the best of our little red dot, from an art exhibition, to a food festival hawking iconic local delicacies, to a concert showcasing the talents of our homegrown composers and choirs

SAM Late Nights

What SAM Late Nights returns in conjunction with the museum’s latest exhibition, Imaginarium: Into the Space of Time. Complimentary late-night access to the museum is offered, where one can check out ongoing exhibitions such as Imaginarium, which explores the concept of time through immersive and interactive works by artists from around the world. Visitors can find out more about what went on behind the scenes—from conception to production challenges—through casual sharing sessions with the curatorial team. Ocean's Children, an indie electronic music band, will also be on hand to entertain the crowd, alongside food, craft beers and wine sold by Standing Sushi Bar.

"The Nanyang Space" Art Exhibition

What China-born, Singapore-based artist Tan Rui Rong is bringing his world tour exhibition "The Nanyang Space" to its last stop at Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore, following stops in Beijing and Guizhou. 30 of his most recent works—renowned for their east-meets-west blend of strong Oriental colours, Nanyang style and Western painting techniques—will be up for display and sale at the exhibit curated by Goshen Art Gallery. While entry to the exhibition is free, part of the sales will go to ArtSE, a social enterprise that supports low-income and disadvantaged families.

RWS Street Eats

What Calling all foodies! The region's premier gastronomic event, RWS Street Eats, returns for its second year as Malaysian Food Street plays host to more than 20 food stalls selling iconic hawker delights from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore. Chef Steven Long, a finalist in Top Chef Vietnam 2014, will be on hand to make his popular Pho Bo and Vietnamese Summer Rolls. Meanwhile, chef Zainal Abidin and chef Mohd Fairus will delight crowds with their Flying Roti Canai, and Bali Pork Star will be selling their iconic fusion pork dishes.

SSO National Day Concert

What This all-Singaporean programme conducted by Darrell Ang is the perfect tribute to Singapore on her 53rd birthday. The concert showcases six homegrown composers, ranging from veteran musicians like Leong Yoon Pin and Phoon Yew Tien to budding stars like Wang Chen Wei. Take a trip down memory lane with Kelly Tang's arrangement of the classic song "Home", that will be performed by the choirs of the Singapore Symphony family.
