2/5Peter and Blue Go Around the World 2019

What As the school holidays descend upon us, take the little ones to the ballet to encourage their creativity through a playful production of dance and storytelling. Presented by the Singapore Dance Theatre, follow the adventure of a young boy Peter, his dog Blue, and his cat Calico, as the trio embark on a journey exploring iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Big Ben in London.

3/5Shining Brightly Exhibition by Soonik Kwon

What Korean artist Soonik Kwon's first solo exhibition in Singapore at the Miaja Gallery will feature a selection of 12 mixed media paintings from his newest series titled Pile Up & Rub—Chink. The exhibition will also feature works from his previous series titled Absence of Ego. Through his signature use of shapes—especially circles embedded in larger geometrical forms— watch him play with colour and texture to reflect the inner and outer visions of the world, as seen through his eyes.

4/5Floating Utopias

What The ArtScience Museum plays host to a series of more than 40 artworks—including eight giant, inflatable sculptures—that delves deeper into the social history of inflatable objects. Split into five chapters, the exhibition explores the excitement of ballooning in the 18th and 19th century, as well as the use of floating structures in unconventional spaces as artistic commentary. Expect to see gigantic sculptures such as Castle of Vooruit by Turkish artist Ahmet Ögüt, as it is displayed as a dramatic outdoor installation, as well as SurvivaBall by artist duo, The Yes Men, which explores the possibilities of how humanity deals with climate disasters in the future.

5/5The Singapore Horse Show 2019

What Experience an exciting line-up of equestrian programmes at the annual Horse Show this weekend happening at the Bukit Timah Saddle Club. With pony races, a show jumping demonstration and dressage competition to entertain the whole family, little ones will be especially enthralled to find tractor rides and zorb balls on the field for some hands-on fun. While the kids keep themselves busy, parents can then look forward to an array of sumptuous food options to indulge in as well. With light bites from the Travelling Cow and Coffee Bandits Food Truck to munch on while catching up with friends, cool down from the heat with coconut desserts from the Soi Coco pop-up, or simply have glass of wine (or two) from the Straits Wine Company to properly dig into the weekend.
