1/12 Miu Lady Pop-up

When November 2 to 11
What Miu Miu dedicates a pop-up installation at Ion Orchard's Level 1 atrium to its timeless bag: the Miu Lady. Features you will notice include two massive bejewelled Miu Lady bags reproduced in Madras leather as well as the screening of a series of short films that narrate the life and story of the arm candy beloved by so many. With the pop-up's launch, too, the fashion maison has introduced a unique colour palette for its Ayers collection. 

2/12 Singapore: Inside Out Sydney 2017

When November 3 to 5
What The second edition of Singapore: Inside Out makes its way to Tokyo and Sydney after a successful first exhibition in BeijingLondon and New York in 2015. Featuring everything from visual to performing arts, culinary talents to experiential exhibitions, it will showcase how Singapore has grown into an internationally renowned creative hub through a range of multi-disciplinary and cross-national collaborations.

3/12 Singapore Writers Festival 2017

When November 3 to 12
What This year, the Singapore Writers Festival takes on the theme, Aram, which in Tamil means to help others as they explore the abstract meaning of goodness. In conjuncture with ASEAN 50, the festival brings in acclaimed authors from across the region such as Gemino Abad from the Philippines and Ing Phousera from Cambodia. Beyond the written word, you can also expect a stimulating lineup of performances such as stand-up comedy and poetry reading, as well as a visual feast of illustrations and cartoons.

4/12 The Sound of Music

When November 7 to 26
What It’s exciting that The Sound of Music, a classic musical known and loved around the world, is coming to Singapore again. It’s even more exciting to know, is that 18 of our very own budding talents have been chosen to perform as six of the seven von Trapp children, with three alternating between each character. With the theatre’s most memorable songs such as My Favourite Things, Edelweiss and Sixteen Going on Seventeen, the acting and singing of these children will trigger pangs of nostalgia.

When November 10 to 11
What Join homegrown solo violinist Tang Tee Khoon and British cellist Colin Carr this weekend for two nights of serenading music, featuring the complete 6 Bach Cello Suites and his 6 Sonatas and Patitas for Solo Violin, at the Esplanade Recital Studio. For the younger audience, the concert has also specially organised interactive backstage tours and closed-door rehearsals, which allows the children to meet the musicians and be inspired as they learn about their craft.

6/12 Battle of the Masters

What Master Football brings in football legends from Singapore, Arsenal and Liverpool for three 40min round-robin matches at the National Stadium this month. Get ready for heart-racing action as masters such as David James, Steve McManaman and Gilberto Silva battle one another on the field. These ex-professional players may have retired from the field, but their feet remain just as nimble as when they played in the EPL.

7/12 Belinda Carlisle: The Heaven 30th Anniversary Tour 

When November 11
What The ex-lead vocalist of the Go-Go’s group ventured solo in the 1980s and has since made a name for herself with various hit singles like Summer Rain and Runaway Horses. After three decades and a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Performance under the female category, Belinda Carlisle performs her multi-platinum album, Heaven on Earth, in The Star Theatre at The Star Performing Arts Centre. With a melodious lineup of songs from the album including Heaven is a Place on Earth and Circle in the Sand, it may, for a split second, feel like heaven has descended on the theatre.

8/12 The Artist’s Voice

What With the core belief that artists can bring forth new revelations and create relevance for ongoing realities that may not affect us directly, The Parkview Museum brings us The Artist’s Voice, a contemporary art exhibition that advocates for artists to voice their opinions on the world’s happenings. Showcasing works from internationally renowned artists such as Marina Abramovic from Serbia, Liu Xiaodong from China and the late Dennis Oppenheim from the United States, prepare to be evoked by the profound vision of the exhibition.

9/12 Dreamseeds Arts Fest

When November 18 to 25 
What The Dreamseeds Arts Fest is back the second time as it aims to help the families of children suffering from chronic illnesses realise their creative potential and express themselves through the healing arts. Themed ‘Finding Futurenova’, this year’s festival by Club Rainbow (Singapore) is split into five main segments—an arts exhibition, arts market, performing arts concert, creative workshops and experiential talks, and film screening in collaboration with Objectifs—and all brought to us by the beneficiaries themselves under the mentorship of professional artists and performers.

10/12 Singapore Lyric Opera Gala Concert 2017: Unrequited Love

What Led by Jason Lai, the Principal Conductor of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Orchestra and Associate Conductor for Singapore Symphony Orchestra, expect a stellar night of heart-wrenching opera classics such as Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte and Verdi’s Aida. Bringing in the SLO-ASEAN Vocal Competition 2016 grand prize winner, mezzo-soprano Samantha Ying-zing Chong from Malaysia, first runner-up, soprano Pham Khanh Ngoc from Vietnam and second runner-up, homegrown baritone Alvin Tan, the gala concert sets the stage for the Singapore Lyric Opera Chorus and the Singapore Lyric Opera Children’s Choir who will be closing off the magical evening with favourites like Bizet’s Carmen.

What The Singapore International Film Festival’s Focus series this year, Histories of Tomorrow: Indonesian Cinema After the New Order, explores the relationship between the art of filmmaking in Indonesia and its communal spirit while creating conversation and bringing the audience deeper into the filmmakers’ world. Besides film screenings, the festival has also organised masterclasses and a panel discussion with world-renowned fimmakers such as Shekhar Kapur, the creator of Elizabeth (1998)—which won six BAFTA Awards and seven nominations at the Academy Awards—and Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007), and Adrian Jonathan Pasaribu, Editor-in-Chief of Cinema Poetica and Member of Indonesian Film Board.

12/12 Giving Week

When November 28 to December 5
What The National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC)'s Giving Week returns for its third edition with a new initiative called The Great Giveaway, where homegrown celebrities will be raising funds for charities of their choice by starting campaigns on the NVPC portal, giving.sg. Members of the public can put in their own donations, and also stand a chance to win exciting prizes, including VIP passes to entertainer Kumar's 50th birthday show, a Ferrari test drive and a limited edition 70th anniversary gift box by Ital Auto.
