“My family and I were invited to the birthday party of a senior member of a royal family, but when we got to the venue, we saw that the guests didn’t look a day over 18 years old. We found out that this was the birthday party of a younger family member! But our gifts were already on the gift counter, so we had to leave them there and head to the correct celebration empty-handed and embarrassed.”

2. Bathroom emergency

“Just hold it while I go,” I heard a woman say from the next stall at a hotel bathroom. “But there’s no room! I’ll have to stand outside,” huffed her friend. As I exited the loo, I saw the friend holding a lavish, beaded evening gown! When she saw my stunned face, she giggled, “It’s too tight for her to go potty so she decided to take off her entire gown! To this, I quipped, “Oh my gosh, she’s starkers! What if there’s a fire?”

3. Surround sound

“My husband and I were at a Rolls-Royce New Year’s Day celebration when we decided to test the soundproofing of the marque’s soft-top convertible, the Dawn. We hopped in, closed the door, and I paired my phone with the car’s sound system via Bluetooth. From there, we danced to YMCA blasting through the speakers. The sales manager standing outside said she heard nothing. The Dawn has excellent soundproofing!”

4. Champagne shower

“I was at a wine pairing dinner where champagne was meant only as an aperitif. When the announcement came to proceed into the ballroom for dinner, most guests finished their bubbly and made their way in. However, one female guest, tottered in carrying three flutes for herself—two on her left hand and one on her right. I’m guessing she couldn’t hold a fourth glass because of the huge diamond ring she had on!”
