What Since its very first gala dinner in 1950, the Canadian Association of Singapore has kept up its tradition of hosting an annual night of revelry in support of a good cause. This year is no different, but made even more special for the fact that the organisation is celebrating 70 years of fostering relationships between Canadian expatriates and the local communities in Singapore, with an aptly themed Platinum Ball. Proceeds from the event, held at The Westin Singapore, will go towards AkarakA, a registered charity in Singapore, which is developing higher education pathways for underprivileged children and young adults.

What Thanks to its generous donors, Food from the Heart distributed $5.9m worth of food and raised awareness about hidden hunger—a lack of vitamins and minerals—among needy families in Singapore last year.
