4/14 The Jazz Association (Singapore) Benefit Gala Dinner

When April 5

What The Jazz Association (Singapore) looks to broadway for inspiration this year, titling its biennial benefit gala dinner Some Enchanted Evening, after the hit tune from the 1949 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, South Pacific. And what an enchanting evening it promises to be as two jazz maestros—American vocalist Kenny Washington and Singaporean icon Jeremy Monteiro—are set to serenade guests at the gala dinner at the Tower Ballroom of Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore.

5/14 The Theatre Ball by SRT

When April 6

What Winter arrives at the Capitol Kempinksi Hotel as the Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) plays host to their annual Ball this April in an effort to raise funds for their highly anticipated productions all year. Expect extravagant costumes from all Seven Kingdoms and beyond, with each look pledging allegiance one of the several warring factions of Westeros. Of course, the prestigious costume Ball will also see the attendance of society's and the theatre industry's most prominent, scheduled to make dramatic appearances throughout the evening.

6/14 Singapore Badminton Open 2019

When April 9 to 14
 
What World No 1 Kento Momota, former Olympic champion Lin Dan, as well as 2016 Olympic mixed doubles silver medallists Goh Liu Ying and Chan Peng Soon are among the big-name shuttlers, who will be playing in this US$355,000 badminton tournament, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

What The Singapore Yacht Show celebrates the opening of its ninth edition—to be held at One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove—with a black-tie gala dinner on at the Capitol Theatre. The gala’s theme, Art Deco Elegance, will bring guests, including experts and enthusiasts of the global yachting industry, back to the Roaring Twenties. There will be a champagne reception to look forward to before a delectable four-course dinner curated by the award-winning chefs from The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore. Top yachting brands, many of which will debut their latest fleet of vessels at the yacht show, will also be recognised during the Asia Boating Awards, as part of the evening’s programme.

12/14 The Platinum Ball

When April 27
 
What Since its very first gala dinner in 1950, the Canadian Association of Singapore has kept up its tradition of hosting an annual night of revelry in support of a good cause. This year is no different, but made even more special for the fact that the organisation is celebrating 70 years of fostering relationships between Canadian expatriates and the local communities in Singapore, with an aptly themed Platinum Ball. Proceeds from the event, held at The Westin Singapore, will go towards AkarakA, a registered charity in Singapore, which is developing higher education pathways for underprivileged children and young adults.

13/14 The Passion Ball

When April 27
 
What Thanks to its generous donors, Food from the Heart distributed $5.9m worth of food and raised awareness about hidden hunger—a lack of vitamins and minerals—among needy families in Singapore last year. This year, the non-profit organisation plans to kick-start new initiatives for its beneficiaries to get better access to freshly cooked meals with the funds it hopes to raise at its annual Passion Ball on at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore.

What Canada’s Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia brings to life the characters in American writer and illustrator Eric Carle’s popular children’s books: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Little Cloud and The Mixed Up Chameleon at the Victoria Theatre.
