Equal parts fashion lover and devoted mum to toddler Aaron, the petite and peppy Dimple Aswani also has a hand in the family business, Royal Brothers, where she contributes to the creative and design aspects of new projects.

She is effusive in sharing her favourite travel memories and trends, and we completely relate to this stylish lady’s love for spring/summer’s colours and prints.

We find out about some of her favourite summer memories, and what special pieces she’ll be sporting this season:

2012 has been a busy but good year so far.
We're developing our hotel at 35 Robinson Road, which will carry the brand So by Sofitel. Right now we're in the construction phase, targeting to open in the first quarter of next year.

Usually, most summers we're in Europe. This July, we'll be heading to London and Paris. From there, we usually take short trips to nearby places. I love London – it’s like my home away from home!

I love travelling, and I have good memories of all my travels. One that ranks high is my honeymoon in July 2006, where we travelled around Switzerland. My favourite place would have to be Jungfraujoch. Absolutely unspoilt, it definitely was one of my travel highlights.

Another favourite memory was in late July 2010,
when we took my son, nine months-old at the time, to London and Paris. It was a family holiday, with my parents, brother, husband, and baby Aaron. We usually take at least one family holiday a year. This was my son's first trip to London, and I spent my birthday there. It was a great holiday!

I wouldn't say I am a slave to fashion trends, but I am in love with the trends and styles this season. I'm feeling the strong, vibrant candy colours this season. The fit-and-flared dresses and skirts are my favourites!

My favourite designer at the moment is Mary Katrantzou. I've bought a few pieces from her spring/summer 2012 collection. My favourite is the fish tank printed corset and the tulip skirt, which I wore to the Singapore Tatler Fashion Hall of Fame event. I love the fit-and-flared dresses/skirts that are very Mad Men. Hervé Léger does them well this season.

I’m also loving the detailed cut-outs on dresses and tops. One of my favourites is Roland Mouret. I’ve just picked up a Roland Mouret cropped cut-out stretch top, matched with a midi length skirt. Another recent purchase from the spring 2012 collections is a Mugler strong shoulder jacket, which I team up with my leather shorts (Kelly Bergin does amazing leather pieces). For casual wear, I'm practically living in shorts from Chloé and Carven.

I'm totally in love with Christian Loboutin Highness double stacked heel (160mm). I've just bought the multicolour python ones – very high heel but totally comfortable!

I like strong lips this season. (I'm in love with everything this season, not always the case for me!) Right now, my absolute necessities are my Dolce & Gabbana lipsticks in Ruby, Sahara, and Infatuation. I love the Tom Ford makeup line, especially the lip colour in Cherry Lush. All these are just varying degrees of reds!

Next week, Ho Ching Lin shares her favourite summer memory and her top 5 makeup essentials.
