1. La Voix Humaine

What Catch the digital premiere of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra's latest musical portrait, La Voix Humaine—a classic one-woman opera act by French composer Francis Poulenc. The production, which is directed by Ivan Heng, cultural medallion winner and founding artistic director of leading theatre company Wild Rice, features soprano Jennifer Lien undertaking the demanding role of Elle, accompanied by pianist Shane Thio. It is available to stream on Sistic Live and adopts a pay-as-you-wish system, where audiences are able to access the show for a minimum fee of $10.

2. Singapore French Summer Festival

What Organised by The Embassy of France in Singapore with Shaw Organisation, the inaugural Singapore French Summer Festival was launched on Bastille Day earlier this month, bringing dedicated cinephiles an exciting online film festival that features a mix of eight newly-released French films and popular titles from the European state. Among them include Proxima, a drama film directed by Alice Winocour that follows the journey of the only female French astronaut at the European Space Agency, as well as adventure film Spread Your Wings, which follows a father and son duo in their journey of saving an endangered species of white-front geese—perfect to enjoy with the whole family. 

Digital festival goers can access the event through the new virtual cinema platform by Shaw Theatres, KinoLounge.

3. Online screening of Tan Dun Martial Arts Trilogy: The Banquet Concerto

What If you missed the January 2012 concert of Chinese classical composer Tan Dun's Martial Arts Trilogy, you can now watch it on the Esplanade Offstage digital platform for a limited time of two weeks only. The concert was initially staged in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Esplanade and Huayi—Chinese Festival of Arts, featuring a line-up of internationally acclaimed Chinese artists such as pianist Sun Jiayi.
