The couple revealed they got engaged earlier this month in Italy

Princess Beatrice will soon be walking down the aisle. On Thursday, Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York announced that their eldest daughter Beatrice got engaged to real estate tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi earlier this month.

"We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together," the couple said in a statement. "We share so many similar interests and values, and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

Edoardo proposed to Beatrice during an intimate holiday in Italy after dating for two years, reports the BBC. The pair is set to wed next year. 

“You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home,” Edoardo, director of real estate company Banda property, wrote in an Instagram post dedicated to his fiancée. “Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever.”

Princess Beatrice, who is ninth in line to the British throne, wrote on Twitter that she’s “so excited” about her her engagement. In October 2018, her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, married British entrepreneur Jack Brooksbank.

Meanwhile Sarah is pleased to add another son-in-law to the royal family.

"I know what a mother feels so I have tears of joy,” the Duchess wrote on Twitter. “I am so proud of this sensational news. Andrew and I are just the luckiest people ever to have two great sons in law.”
